In many circumstances, part time employees will be eligible for workers’ compensation benefits. All Florida employers who have four or more full or part-time employees must provide workers’
compensation insurance. Construction industry employers who have even one employee that is either full or part time must also carry workers’ compensation insurance coverage. All Florida State and local government agencies are also required to carry workers’ compensation coverage. Finally, farmers that have at least six (6) regular employees, or employ twelve (12) or more additional seasonal agricultural laborers who work at least thirty (30) days must also carry workers’ compensation coverage. There are also additional requirements and limitations, which can be found online at the Division of Workers’ Compensation.
